WASHINGTON D.C. — A Donald Trump supporter has filed a police report alleging that the president's former campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, sexually assaulted her in late November at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Singer Joy Villa claims Lewandowski slapped her twice on the butt while the two were posing for a picture, according to a report by CNN. She told the network that the incident occurred around 8 p.m., adding that Lewandowski "was drinking" and "appeared to be in bad spirits."

"He grabbed me very boisterously, unexpectedly," Villa told CNN, adding that after the photo shoot, he "smacked my ass really hard, almost violent in nature."

Villa also said the detective she spoke with told her Lewandowski's behavior amounts to sexual assault.

Although the incident allegedly occurred on November 28, Villa did not file the police report until Christmas Eve. Villa attributed the delay in filing the report to fear of the consequences.

"I feared that it could backfire on me," Villa told Politico. "Ten times out of 10 the woman gets blamed no matter what." She called the episode with Lewandowski "completely demeaning and shocking."

She also said she had been reluctant to go public with her story partly because Lewandowski is married and has children. But after a friend who witnessed the incident shared the story with Politico last week, she decided to come forward.

An eyewitness who wished to remain anonymous confirmed Villa's account of the incident, according to Politico.

Villa made headlines last year when she wore a "Make America Great Again" dress to the Grammys.
