WASHINGTON D.C. — Three of the more than a dozen women who have accused President Trump of unwanted sexual advances appeared on NBC's "Today" show with Megan Kelly Monday, saying it is time their allegations were taken seriously.

"It was heartbreaking last year," said Samantha Holvey, a former Miss America contestant, in a report by ABC News. "We're private citizens and for us to put ourselves out there to try to show America who this man is and how he views women, and for them to say, 'Eh, we don't care,' it hurt."

Harvey claims Trump would walk into the dressing room at the beauty pageant. Another woman, Rachel Crooks, a former Trump Tower receptionist, said that Trump forcibly kissed her on the mouth without her consent and called on lawmakers to "put aside party affiliations and investigate Trump's history of sexual misconduct."

Jessica Leeds, appearing at a Monday news conference, described an encounter with Trump on an airplane in the 1970s.

"All of a sudden, he's all over me," Leeds recalled. "Kissing and groping, groping and kissing."

Al Franken, the Democratic senator from Minnesota, announced his resignation last week amid allegations that he sexually harassed several women. Reps. John Conyers (D-Mich.) and Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) also resigned following accusations of sexual misconduct.

While Republicans are reluctant to investigate the allegations against Trump. several Democratic lawmakers are calling on the president to resign.

"President Trump should resign," said New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand on Monday. "These allegations are credible; they are numerous. I've heard these women's testimony, and many of them are heartbreaking."
