A suicide truck killed 125 people and injured almost 150 in Baghdad on Saturday.

The attack, which occurred in a busy shopping section of the Karrada neighborhood and injured almost 50 women and children, is being reported as the deadliest single incident in years in the country.

At the time, families in Karrada were preparing for Eid al-Fitr, the final day of the holiday this week. They had just broken from fasting.
The truck, which was laced with explosives barreled into a busy coffee shop and a gym, destroying the surrounding complex. Firefighters and police attempted to rescue people from the crumbled buildings around the truck.

This latest attack comes only days after attacks in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Yemen, and bombings at the Ataturk International Airport in Istanbul, Turkey, Lebanon, and the border of Syria and Jordan.
ISIS had promised that there would be more terror attacks during the holy month of Ramadan.
The deadliest shooting spree in United States history also occurred during Ramadan. The Orlando Pulse Nightclub shootings were enacted by a young man who pledged allegiance to ISIS. Also a man stabbed a French Police Commander and his partner in the name of ISIS.
ISIS has publicly claimed responsibility for most of the attacks and it is believed that all of the aforementioned attacks can be traced to the jihadist group.
This latest attack comes during the Muslim month of Ramadan, when terror attacks seem to ramp up in frequency from terrorist militants.
